OATMEAL MILK HONEY Soap 5oz x2--Ahh, so THIS is what the raves were about! The scent is your classic, ever-dependable OMH scent--warm and cozy, heavy on the oatmeal...I don't smell any honey or almond. I took a shower with this today and I may be in love! I REALLY like this soap formula--the lather is VERY creamy and thick, producing tight, white little bubbles--"lotion-like" is the best way I can decribe the suds. It rinsed cleanly(no slimy's or residue) and left my skin smooth but NOT dry, tight or itchy--which is usually my issue with most CP soaps. Scented my shower stall and left a light trace of fragrance on my skin after. New FAVE.
UPDATE: Love this soap!!! The scent strenght is MEDIUM--stronger than my WI Sweet Oats soap. I find this to be the most moisturizing of all the JBS soaps that I ordered. Hubby likes this better than WI. I will keep reordering this from Jeanne.
***VBN Soap 5oz--Cold Sniff: light sweet fragrance, I can't really distinguish any particular notes(ie caramel, vanilla)
UPDATE: 2 weeks into curing and this soap is slowly starting to develop its scent. I can now get faint hints of caramelized sugar. Will continue to let cure.
***MISTLETOE KISS Soap 3oz--Cold Sniff: A SURPRISE fave! It smells fresh and clean with a lovely SWEET undertone--this is what I've always wanted Clean perfume Sweet Layer to smell like. Definitely unisex--I was worried that it would lean towards the masculine side. Will reorder in a perfume rollon.
UPDATE: DH and DS love this scent, LIGHT-MEDIUM scent intensity in the shower.
***SUGARED SHORTBREAD Soap 3oz--Cold Sniff: If anyone remembers/loved MST Sugared Shortbread, this is the EXACT same fragrance, to my nose!!! VERY foody and the strongest scent out of the bunch. LOVE...drool!
***ORANGE CREAMSICLE Soap 3oz--Cold Sniff: I'm smelling a light orange pospicle scent--the "creamsicle" part hasn't kicked in yet, will update in a fortnight.
UPDATE: Scent is stronger after 2 weeks of curing...I smell sugared oranges, very nice. LIGHT-MEDIUM scent.
***BUTTERY VANILLA Soap 3oz--Cold Sniff: I smell a light sweet fruity vanilla...I don't really smell the "buttery" component here--very different from the perfume roll-on where the top note was all butter to me, lol!
UPDATE: I've used this 4x in the shower...still a LIGHT scent but a good soap nonetheless.
***CRANBERRY & YUZU Soap 3oz--Cold Sniff: Another SURPRISE FAVE! Wow, this scent smells so very UPSCALE to me! A classy blend of sweet cran and mellow citrus--fresh and clean...this would make a great perfume...definitely reordering in a rollon! LOVE!
UPDATE: Still loving the scent of this soap...will be reordering this in a perfume rollon. LIGHT-MEDIUM scent in the shower.
***APPLE COBBLER Soap 3oz--Cold Sniff: This smells like a Hot Apple Pie candle...sweet apples and a touch of spice(just a touch--not overly spicy at all). I don't smell the vanilla or pie crust yet..will update after I use it. I can also smell a very faint base scent.
***OATMEAL MILK HONEY LOTION 4oz--Smells just like the soap(see above). This lotion formula has got to be one of my faves! It's a THICK, opaque and white glossy cream...definitely not runny or thin by any means! If Jeanne packaged this in a tub she could get away with calling it a cream. It is definitely a heavy-duty lotion--I don't think I will need to order her cream as this does the job(it's winter here now so that is saying something!) The lotion goes on silky smooth--not greasy BUT it did take a minute for it to fully absorb. It left my legs with a nice sheen and my skin nice and plump. FAVE.
UPDATE: After 2 weeks curing, the almond scent is starting to peek out as a top note. The overall scent has also become stronger & full bodied. There is a baby powder drydown that I'm not too fond of, but the initial scent is so good I'm willing to ignore it, LOL!
***OATMEAL MILK HONEY Perfume rollon--Smells like a sharper version of the soap--maybe the CP process mellows out the sharpness of the fragrance oil?
UPDATE: NOW I am LOVING this! The sharpness is gone, I can detect an unoffensive amount of almond in the top note and the drydown is not as powdery as the lotion. The rollon is also MUCH stronger than WI Sweet Oat which is a similar scent to this. LOVE LOVE!
***FROSTED PINK CUPCAKES perfume rollon--In the bottle, I smell a slightly "fruity" vanilla cake...unfortunately it turned plastic upon immediate contact with my skin(a LOT of foody fragrances turn on me..it's my stupid skin chem, lol!)
UPDATE: Unfortunately, this scent doesn't work for me. It turned into a strong musty scent on my skin. I had my friend try it too and the same thing happened.
***BUTTERY VANILLA perfume rollon--Very different scent from the soap IMO(CP does manage to destroy vanillas)...this has a top note of butter followed by a warm vanilla...kinda reminds me of my SUDS Birthday Cake lotion. Happy to say that it hasn't turned to plastic on me...yay for small b&b victories! Medium scent with good sillage.
***VANILLA BEAN NOEL Perfume rollon--VERY light scent...I have to bring my nose near my skin to smell it but in all fairness, it seems to be the 1st VBN that KINDA likes me,lol! It hasn't turned to plastic or spice on my skin...I smell a faint bit of butter and vanilla...will update in a fortnight after curing =)
UPDATE: Still VERY LIGHT...can hardly smell anything...will let cure.
***ORANGE CREAMSICLE Perfume rollon--Smells different from the soap IMO...now this I like =) I smell a sweet, almost candylike, full-bodied orange tempered around the edges with vanilla. A fun, playful scent..will be using this in the summer.
***FREE SAMPLE in Violet Dipped Chiffon Cakes lotion--Cold Sniff: The only miss in my order. I found the violet to be too powdery and pungent for my liking...not sweet enough, couldn't smell the "cake."
WINNING SCENTS:*Oatmeal Milk Honey*Mistleltoe Kiss*Cranberry & Yuzu
I am over the moon with my first JBS order! I think she has a winning formula going on with her soaps and lotions. The perfume rollons are good. I will be reordering her soaps and lotions --I'm really impressed with the quality and her formulas. Thanks for reading, not affiliated etc.
